’t Sevencoote is the historical name of the former fief that resorted under the Bruges fortress. The name refers to a sluiceway, or zevekote, regulating the water supply in the canals served by the Gemeneweidebeek. The earliest mention as a fief and district dates from 1258. The estate with poultry yard covered approximately 18 ha at that time. Zevekote castle, 100 m from the B&B, is the only reminder of an illustrious past.
